5637. Stephen Willard (1894-1965) photo #994 of Eastern Sierra Lake c1950. Signed in image. Willard was one of the Southwest’s premier landscape photographers. He settled in Palm Springs in 1922 and photographed desert landscapes until he moved to the Owen Valley in 1947 and opened his studio in Mammoth Lakes. From his base in the mountains, he photographed the magnificent Easter Sierras. The Palm Springs Desert Museum is the repository of Willard’s negatives and prints. Excellent condition.
