16689. Karl Arthur von Rydingsvärd (Swedish/American 1863-1941) Hand-Carved Footstool c1900s. Trained in Sweden in the slöjd (handicraft). Karl later went on to teach the principles of the Slöjd Movement to hundreds of pupils in America. He had studios in Manhattan and Brunswick, Maine. This footstool cam from an estate in Maine.
