15778. Vojtech Preissig (Czech 1873-1944) Color Etching “Oaks in Evening” c1900. Preissig came from Prague and later studied with Kupka and Mucha. He was a master of the aquatint medium and in 1914 taught at Columbia with Arthur Wesley Dow. His prints are quite rare and most were printed in very small editions. He introduced the linoleum block as a printing medium in the U.S. He created posters for the Wentworth Institute in Boston in the late teens and early 1920s. Signed.
